Nominate a ‘Flood Hero’!

Do you know someone who went out of their way to help relieve the misery felt by so many during the recent floods across the Canterbury district or made life that bit more bearable for you? It doesn’t matter whether they are a public official, a family member or a friendly neighbour, we’d like to hear about them!
Whitefriars is inviting Canterbury/Whitstable/Herne Bay/Faversham Times readers to nominate their ‘Flood Hero’ and will award a £100 shopping voucher to four of them, as well as a £25 voucher to each of their nominators.
Whitefriars Manager Peter Scutt says: “Most of our staff live locally and we’ve been touched by the stories of how local people – our shoppers - have reached out to their neighbours in time of need, providing help and comfort to those devastated by the recent floods. We wanted to do our bit to help, so as part of  Whitefriars’ community programme, we’ve set aside some money to reward people who have gone out of their way to help others.”
Simply complete the form in the 6 March issue of the free newspapers and write in 60 words or less why your Flood Hero deserves to be recognised. Send your entry in by the closing date of 20 March 2014.
A judging panel comprising representatives of the Times and Whitefriars will choose the best entries to receive the shopping vouchers and be featured in the newspaper.
